"I have this much more head"

Aspen walked up to Grammie, who she hadn't seen in a week or so... Grammie commented on the fact that Aspen was a big girl.

Aspen responded, noting that she was now 4. She then said, holding her hand about half way up her forehead, "See, Grammie, I'm getting bigger. When I was three, I came up to here. Now I'm bigger, cause, see, I've got this much more head!"

"No hands"

So, I sat down to read to Oakley before bed tonight. She started to walk toward me and then diverted. Once she arrived on the other side of the room, she sat next to the rocking horse and said, "Horse read me."

I said, "That's fine with me."

A few minutes later, she looked back at me and said, "Horse not read me... No hands."

Lucky me... my opposable thumbs earned me the right to read to my child tonight.

A new name for a dog

Our neighbors used to have a dog. Aspen and I were talking about it the other night.

The dog's real name: Biscuit
What Aspen thought the name was: Hi-biscuit (as in the flower, Hibiscus)
