"I was making a joke"
One of our girls' favorite meals is something called "wraps". Tortillas, chicken, bacon, sauce... I love it too. We had it for dinner last night. Today, Oakley was talking about having the leftovers for lunch all day. "I'm going to have wraps and sauce!"

On the way home before lunch, Oakley said to Jenn and Aspen, "I'm not going to have any wraps."

Jenn's response, "Yeah! More for Aspen and me!"

Oakley, in her low-talking, satire laced voice, responded saying, "I was making a joke..."

When Aspen was two, she might have tried to make people laugh by being goofy. Oakley, on the other hand, has a more "refined" sense of humor...

On a side note: Congratulations to Oakley! She's completely potty trained, nighttime and all!

"Inforbodymation"
"'Inforbodymation, yeah, yeah, yeah, recycle bin... Valentine's hairbrush.' That's how it goes. And then we run around in a circle and dance."

Duck 2005
Well, we've made it through a trip to Duck yet again. And even with a number of less than ideal situations, we still had a great time.

The girls both loved the beach and the pool, and Aspen sulked around most of Friday because she wanted to go back.

A first day highlight...

As is my custom, I decided to make a full speed dash into the roaring ocean late Friday night. I told the girls to watch (we all need an audience). Well, Oakley obliged and ran down to the water's edge to watch. Well, what Oakley didn't understand is that edge of the ocean moves. When the big wave I jumped over arrived, Oakley was squatting down watching me. Moments later, she had been rolled over a few times by the wave and her mother was hauling her out of the ocean.

Oakley's next visit to the waves was fully six days later. It, too, included a tumble, but this was caused by the slope of the sand. She survived, and certainly loved the whole trip.
