Consignment Sales...
OK, you've heard about consignment sales here before. But did you really realize just how committed to them Jenn is?

Tonight, the girls were trying on clothes. Aspen is now getting to the size where there are few consignment options. Kids just start wearing the stuff out. So, Jenn had brought home a pair of pants for Aspen to try on from the Gap, or something similar. The pants were NWT, new, with tags. Aspen is unfamiliar with the concept. She looked at the pants and said...

"Whoever had these pants first took really good care of them."

She's cool
Another thing I've neglected to note is that Lindy is cool. I'm not a huge fan of babies... I just don't know what to do with them. But Lindy has had a sort of coming out party lately. Thanksgiving was an endless series of Daddy obsession, which can be pretty gratifying. If I'm holding her, and I say, "Do you want me to put you down?" she immediately hugs me... Last night, when I got home from work, she started screaming and "running" toward me at the door. How cool is it to have three awesome daughters?

A special show
I was just thinking about Christmas presents and the like and it occurred to me that I hadn't written anything about a recent treat for our family. We got to go see the Lion King at TPAC here in Nashville. What an awesome show. Aspen and Oakley got to experience it, and they loved it. Simba is a hero in our house, and Rafiki might be my favorite part in a show that I've ever seen.

Aspen's Story Book
OK, not to overstate this, but I think this set of pictures is among the most amazing we've posted. Not because they are art, but because I am so proud of Aspen. Aspen is 3 months into kindergarten now, and she's doing so well with it. I don't know how other kids are coming along, but Aspen's ability to read and write amazes me. We have always read to her a lot, but we've never worked with her on reading or writing or sounds or anything. She and Oakley totally pick it up because they want to.

At school, they do "writer's workshop" where they are told to write a story. They can copy words from around the room or try to sound them out. They do a little of both.

Well, Aspen has a storybook that she writes at home. Everything in it comes totally out of her head. We haven't helped with a single idea or a single word. A word of warning... Aspen has a great friend, Ryan, and she really likes him. You'll see what I'm talking about when you open the album...

Aspen's Animals
Aspen's class was given a project... create a store with your name in it. Aspen chose to create "Aspen's Animals". As you can see, she's very proud of it, and should be. Posted by Picasa

Old School Video
OK, so I just got started with YouTube for a variety of reasons... and I think that it may encourage me to be a bit better about videos. Here's an old one... one year old... of Oakley celebrating Halloween!

Soccer ends...
So, Soccer for Fall 2006 has come to a close. Aspen had a great season and really seams to enjoy playing and having her dad as the coach. Over the past few weeks, Aspen had played a few games where she did fine, but wasn't really noticable. Saturday, that was not the case. Aspen was all over the field, playing defense, scoring a goal, just working hard all over the place. She has learned to anticipate the play off of restarts and steal the ball. It's pretty cool.

This weekend, we were playing a really well coached team. One of the coaches from the local club runs the team just for fun. She teaches them a lot and they play well. Before the game, I was telling our team, "Now listen... this team is really well coached." Nobody thought much of it.

About 5 minutes later, Aspen came up to me and said, "Daddy, our team is really well coached too."

How sweet is my little five year old?
