"My aunt is so cool."

Alright, so all of my ladies headed up to Kingsport for a sort of second Christmas. Today, they were chatting with everyone there, and someone asked the girls, "So, what did you get for Christmas?" (Please note that this conversation is completely hearsay and the actual words are certainly misquoted.)

Aspen & Oakley: Lots of things!
Someone in Kingsport: Like what?
Aspen: My aunt is so cool. She makes us amazing gifts. She made us a puppet theater, our Christmas costumes, and this year she made our letter pillows!

To clarify, Aunt Karen made really awesome pillows for the girls this year. In each case, the pillow is a micro suede pillow made in the shape of the girl's first initial and in their respective favorite color. This continues a longstanding tradition of great homemade gifts in the Martin family... things like Aunt Jenni's Touch & Feel book seen almost 5 years ago! Thanks, Aunt Karen, and thanks to everyone for our amazing gifts this year.

Merry Christmas, everyone! We're off to a good start here in Milwaukee and the girls are enjoying everything. In one of many traditions, Uncle David gave the girls a gift last night to play with. In this case, it was a set of walkie talkies. Since then, the girls have been chatting about the house.

This morning, Oakley was talking with Ange on the walkie talkies...

Ange: What are you doing? Over.
Oakley: This is Oakley. WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME OVER!

Oakley's Best Birthday Ever

Oakley's birthday has come and gone, but we didn't miss all the moments. Oakley really had a great day (she referred to it as the "best birthday ever"). I think this video tells a part of the story.
