Some of you come here all the time, and have no idea that Jenn was just featured in the Williamson AM part of the Tennessean today. If that’s news to you, go check it out right here! The folks at Williamson AM got in touch with us after they noticed a few of Jenn’s recipes on Twitter.
The rest of you are probably here because of the article, and I say to you, “Welcome”. We’re thrilled you’ve come to check out some recipes… If you’d like to see the two recipes mentioned in the article, you can find them complete with pictures and everything here.
Jenn loves comments and questions. If you’ve got anything to ask or just want to say hello, please do it! If you just want to look through the recipes, you can do that in our “food” category. We’re so glad you’re here.
I have to chime in with some midday congratulations for Jenn. She recently came upon a site called tastespotting.com. Essentially, it’s a collection of beautiful food pictures that point through to blog posts behind them. It’s nothing short of curated food porn (only the hottest culinary treats are welcome).
Well, last night Jenn got up the gumption to submit one of her pictures and the associated recipe to see if they might accept it. And you know what?
They did.
When I first visited, I happened to catch it on the front page! (Since then, it’s probably dropped off as they’ve published other pictures as well. But I captured a screen shot for posterity.)
How awesome is that?!
If you want to click through to see it, I’ve saved a search for you. Simply click here and you can see her picture on their website. And of course, you’re more than welcome to click though to her recipe!
A week ago, we took a recommendation from Jay and Stephanie and headed out to the Harpeth River for a bit of canoeing. We had a great time on the river. Exploring, swimming, eating some lunch, the whole thing was awesome. The girls were great… it was just a great experience.
Well, we’re returning to a bit of normalcy after getting robbed (literally) a week or so ago. We’ve finally been allowed to replace the computer, monitor, and camera that are really a regular part of our routine. And so, blogging and excessive life recording may now resume!
Something that doesn’t stop these days is tomato production, and we’re grateful for it. Our window sills often look just like this…
We had ourselves a great “little” trip this summer. The beach, Milwaukee, and fully 23 days away from home. We are very fortunate.
The downside, though, to a big trip around which your summer is built is this. When the trip ends, it feels as if summer has ended as well. Seventeen days from right now, we’ll be walking down the driveway to catch the school bus.
So, I have to admit it; I’m a little sad. Summer is fun.
Ask yourself this… are you ready for a throwdown?
–Bobby Flay
Bobby Flay has a show on The Food Network in which he travels the country challenging various cooks to make their favorite dish in a competition with him.
A couple of days ago, Angie suggested that sharing Oakley’s hula hooping skills wouldn’t be enough… We needed to provide some context… We need to know from whence she got her skills.
And so, the Hula Hoop Throwdown was born. Was I ready for a throwdown? Yes I was.
Well, someday that will be true. Today, I live with my wife and three little girls. And you know what? I sincerely love it. I grew up around women, for the most part, I have a reasonable understanding of them, I even like things that women like. That’s right, I can watch What Not To Wear or a cooking show and embrace it.
My reward for embracing women?
Me and my ladies
Tell me that’s not awesome!
We went out on the front porch this morning after church and busted out the self-timer function on the camera. This one can be set to burst one or many shots. The chronology of the shots is really fun, I think.
Just sharing a little snippet of life at the Martin house here. Like all the videos on the site, there’s not some “glorious” moment. They’re basically moments captured for me to return to when everyone is totally different in a few years.
Mothers Day was awesome last weekend… just a good day of hanging out together, etc. I was so enjoying watching my four ladies open the presents that I decided to get the video camera. Fortunately, it didn’t really ruin the moment, so I got a reasonable picture of what was going on…
